Women have served, and continue to serve, with great honor and valor in defense of our nation since the Revolutionary War in 1775.

MWAN, originally established in 1979 as WAVES National, served women of the Sea Services.

In 2015 WAVES National was revitalized in order to keep up with the changing military environment. What was WAVES National is now known as Military Women Across the Nation (MILWomen or MWAN).
