Membership
Who is eligible?
Membership is open to women who have served or are serving in the regular or reserve components of the United States Armed Forces including the National Guard and Maritime Services, who can show proof of honorable service.
Why Membership?
The Triangle Women Veterans, Military Women Across the Nation (MWAN) Unit #144 will help you get back the camaraderie and connection you had when you served. Spend time with women veterans who have shared experiences, make new friends and perhaps reconnect with an old friend. Stay informed of current benefits associated with your military service locally and nationwide. Take advantage of opportunities for networking, socialization, and service with and for other female veterans. Have fun and share a laugh.
How often does the unit meet?
The unit meets quarterly. The meetings occur on the 3rd Saturday of March, June, and September. The last meeting is the first Saturday in December. Our meeting locations are moved around to accommodate our spread out membership.
Is there a cost for membership?
Yes, there are annual dues requirements that are set forth by the national MWAN by-laws. A portion of the dues remains with our unit and the remaining portion goes to the national MWAN office. The annual membership period is from January 1st to December 31st.
New membership: $50 Renewal membership: $40 Lifetime membership: $15

Are there membership requirements?
Aside from paying annual dues, there are no formal requirements for participation. Some of our members prefer to only attend the meetings for social connection. Other members volunteer to staff tables at veteran events, conduct presentations at veteran events, help plan and coordinate veteran events, and/or help veterans directly. Other unit members hold positions at MWAN. It is up to you how involved you want to be.
