Triangle Women Veterans - Unit 144

Bernardine "Bernie" served in the active duty Navy Nurse Corp for 5 1/2 years. She  transferred to the California Air National Guard as a C-130 tactical flight nurse where she served until retirement with 24 years of service. Bernie deployed to Operation Desert Shield and Storm where she served as the OIC of three aeromedical evacuation crews. She is a member of Disabled American Veterans and has previously served as the volunteer Captain of the Raleigh Chapter of Team Red, White, and Blue. Bernie is currently actively retired and living with her service dog, Orleans. Bernie is active in Triangle Women Veterans and her community. She spends her down time participating in sports and creating artwork.
